Ashleigh began dancing at the age of three with the Macdonald School of Dance taking several forms of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Contemporary. In 2011 she auditioned successfully for “The Space” in Melbourne where she pursued her dance training and was soon a teaching staff member. While training in Melbourne Ashleigh was asked to join “Hollabak Dance Crew” and performed at many different events in Australia. On her return to N.Z. she taught for The Macdonald School of Dance. At the beginning of 2015 she joined forces with Amy Macdonald-Te Huki and opened Evolve Performing Arts Centre.

Amy danced from the age of five to advanced level with Miss Joan Irvine QSM. As a teenager she taught for Miss Irvine and later took over her sister’s dance school in Waipukurau. After doing her OE in 1997 she returned to N.Z. to complete the first of her teachers exams. She opened her own school in 2002 after some further years of teaching for Miss Joan Irvine. She has teaching accreditation with the Royal Academy of Dance, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance. She has now joined forces with former pupil Ashleigh Hoera and opened Evolve Performing Arts Centre in Dannevirke and Palmerston North.
Lisa Higginson Studied Speech and Drama through the Trinity College of London for 7 years while at school in Hawke’s Bay. Left school to become a Secondary School teacher and taught Drama at Dannevirke High School for 5 years. She has been involved with the Dannevirke Theatre company for a number of years and has directed several plays for children during that time.
She is now teaching a speech & drama programme for Evolve in Dannevirke. She has prepared our pupils for speech & drama examinations and received awesome marks that both Lisa and the kids are proud of. She is a mother to 3 girls, all who love to be on stage!
Lillee Shailer has been dancing with Evolve for the last 7 years. She is currently studying NZAMD level 6 hip hop. Lillee has passed her level 3,4 and 5 Hip Hop examinations and has achieved high results in all. Lillee has a passion for not only dancing herself but teaching dance to others. Since late 2016 Lillee has been developing her teaching skills by assisting Miss Ashleigh Hoera. She enjoys seeing the kids thrive in what they love.
Lillee is a student at Palmerston North Girls High School studying NCEA Level 1, where dance is one of her chosen subjects. In June of 2019 Lillee was fortunate enough to compete at HipHop Unite NZ, with the Evolve HipHop crews, Milkshake and Illuminate and the experience was amazing. Lillee has strong plans to continue dancing and gain her Solo Diploma certificate in Hip Hop and is excited to get more involved with her teaching at Evolve. She is a very valued member to our team and brings a young fresh vibe that our pupils aspire too.
